In the heart of regional Western Australia, where innovation is sown as deeply as the seed, the 2025 HARVEST Agtech Accelerator Bootcamp at the Muresk Institute has once again proven why the future of farming benefits from the collaborative spirit between ground-breaking tech startups and the growers who feed the world.
This year’s cohort of emerging agtech businesses isn’t just dreaming big—they’re delivering. Whether it’s AI-powered tools, autonomous tractors tackling rural labour shortages, or portable infrared sensors for on-farm chemical analysis, the innovation is laser-focused on real-world impact. For farmers, this means making smarter decisions, operating more efficiently, and having new tools to manage risk in an increasingly volatile climate.

But innovation doesn’t flourish in a vacuum. Over two intense days in June, these founders were immersed in sessions that brought them shoulder-to-shoulder with seasoned growers like Brad Jones, Ash Teakle and Andrew Irving; innovation leaders like Doug Hamilton, Neil Kavanagh, Ryan Del Casale and Frank D’Emden; and capital advisors like Matt McFarlane and Amy Carter-James. From learning how to co-develop IP with corporates to building resilient ESG-aligned agribusinesses, the bootcamp wasn’t just a startup incubator—it was a testbed for the future of agriculture.
What set this year apart was a refreshing shift: these startups aren’t solving abstract problems—they’re talking with farmers from day one. As one panelist put it during the “Ask the Growers” session in the Stables, “If it doesn’t save time or make money on the farm, it’s not innovation—it’s noise.” The message was clear: the agtech of tomorrow must speak the language of the land.

And that’s exactly what the HARVEST program does best. It’s not just WA’s leading agtech business accelerator—it’s a bridge. A bridge between machine and paddock. Between data and decision. Between bright minds in the lab and innovative growers in the field.
As we look ahead to the showcase in September, where these founders will pitch to investors, corporates, and government leaders, we’re reminded of something else: the future of agriculture is already here. It’s just getting better connected. See the cohort in action at the Showcase Event – Click the image below to register.
