The HARVEST 2025 Field Trip brought together growers, innovators, and agtech enthusiasts for an immersive journey through Western Australia’s agricultural heartland. Participants explored cutting-edge technologies, visited pioneering businesses, and engaged in conversations that strengthened community and collaboration.
The experience began at the Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct (AARP) in Neerabup, one of the country’s most advanced testing grounds for automation. A guided site tour and the AARP Brew Hub and Connect session gave the HARVEST cohort an opportunity to pitch their ventures, sparking inspiration and new connections.
From there, the group travelled to Northern Valley Packers in Bindoon for a behind-the-scenes look at their export-focused facility, where automated sorting technology ensures produce meets international standards.
See images below of the cohort at the packing facility, learning about their sorting monitoring automation system.
The journey then continued to Wongan Hills, where participants visited the Sewell family farm to see firsthand how local growers are applying innovation on the ground.
The field trip also included time at the Liebe Group Spring Field Day, a flagship event uniting farmers, researchers, and industry leaders. Here, participants gained practical insights, explored innovative trials, and exchanged knowledge in a dynamic peer-to-peer learning environment.
The HARVEST 2025 Field Trip showcased Western Australian innovation – from automation and robotics to regional farming excellence and grower-led collaboration. More than just a tour, it was a celebration of ideas, community, and the bright future of agriculture.
A huge thank you to our program sponsors for helping WA’s Agtech sector thrive: Grains Research and Development Corporation, Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development, Wheatbelt Development Commission, Wrays | Intellectual Property and Radium Capital.
