Where investors, growers, farmers and agtech ventures meet to accelerate innovation in agriculture

Improving productivity, sustainability and resilience in our agriculture and food sector is increasingly important, but the innovators who are coming up with the solutions need guidance, support and capital.

AgriSpace is dedicated to supporting this innovation by giving agtech ventures guidance and tools to become investor ready, and by providing investors, growers and ag industry participants access to emerging agtech opportunities.

What is AgriSpace?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Why agtech?

Agriculture is facing some of its biggest challenges yet — from climate pressure and labour shortages to the need for greater productivity and resilience. Agtech has a critical role to play, but many great businesses struggle to access the right capital at the right time. AgriSpace exists to help them master their pitch, give them the tools to ensure they are investment ready, and to connect with investors. It also provides access to investors, growers, and farmers to find opportunities to support these agtech ventures.

What’s the benefit for investors?

AgriSpace gives investors and growers access to multiple agtech opportunities in one platform, in an easy to review, consistent format with deal notes written by ag and investment experts, the chance to engage directly with founders, and the flexibility to opt in or out of each opportunity.

What’s the benefit for growers and farmers?

Growers and farmers invest thousands each year in machinery, inputs and infrastructure based on ROI and risk management. Agtech investment is no different except instead of buying the tool or input, you’re investing in the company building it. When growers and farmers are investors, innovative solutions get built ensuring they work on-farm in real life situations.

What’s the benefit for agtech ventures?

Ventures receive detailed, industry specific feedback from our expert team and access to a variety of easy-to-use tools such as investor matching, CRM, and data room to support their fundraising and investor engagement all in one platform.

What does it cost to join?

Investors - $99 per year | Agtech ventures - 3 months: $450 - 6 months: $720 - 12 months: $1080

Is there support to help me use the platform?

Yes — Ventures are offered a 1-1 in-person online tutorial and investor/grower members are provided with a video tutorial to refer to at any time. There are also useful resources in the Knowledge Hub on the platform and webinars on getting investment ready, the agtech sector, and investing are offered to subscribers.

What is early-stage investing?

Where individuals provide capital to businesses (ventures) in exchange for equity in that business. It generally sits between bootstrapping (funding by the founders, family & friends) and later stage funding or venture capital investment.

Is early-stage investing risky?

Yes, it is a higher risk investment strategy which should be considered as part of a diversified investment portfolio.

Is funding guaranteed for ventures?

No. Being on the platform does not guarantee investment and, if individual investors are interested, they do their own due diligence and make their own investment decision. What AgriSpace does is provide access to expert feedback along with easy-to-use tools to get investment ready and conduct and track investor outreach all in one platform.

Do investor subscribers automatically invest in every opportunity?

No — members can opt in and out of every deal. That means they can explore opportunities as they come up and decide which ones are the right fit for them.

What is the minimum investment?

The minimum investment depends on the venture and the terms for their specific fundraise (it can range from $10-100k, or $5k for syndicated deals). This information is available in each venture's fundraising section on the platform.

What is syndication and what are the benefits?

An investment syndicate is when a group of investors pool their money to collectively invest in a venture. This means the minimum investment amount is for the collective so individual investors can put in smaller amounts. For the venture, the investment appears as one line on their cap table.

Does AgriSpace offer syndicated deals?

For specific opportunities where we see a high level of investor interest and our team has a high level of conviction will look at offering syndication.

Who manages the investment process?

Individuals invest directly with the ventures, AgriSpace is a means for them to find the opportunity, review their information, and connect with the founder directly to conduct due diligence and invest. Specific deals may be syndicated, and those investments are managed by GXE, a third-party investment group with an AFSL licence, which oversees the investment process end to end.
